Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I just get one item framed?

Of course! There is no minimum order.

  • I only need mounts for my images, can you supply these?

Absolutely! Feel free to email us about your mounting needs and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. Please be aware that any colours that we don’t keep in stock will have to be ordered in and could extend the time frame of supply.

  • Will you come and collect my artworks as they won’t fit in my car?

Yes! We pick up and deliver for free within a certain radius of our workshop. Give us a call or send us an email to see if you fall within this range. Should you need us to go further afield we are happy to discuss and quote.

  • I have just moved house and I have a lot of pictures that need to be hung up is this something you can help with?

Yes, absolutely! We can help with any hanging needs, big or small. Drop us an email or give us a call to discuss.

  • Can you supply framing materials?

Yes! If there is something specific that you need, we are more than happy to help you find it and if we can, supply it.

  • Why has my framed art print gone wavy?

The main cause for what is called “buckling” to occur in art prints is the fluctuation of both temperature and humidity. Where you hang your pictures and how you store them is key to preventing this issue from occurring. For example, a cold, damp garage is not an ideal space to store framed images and it not something that we advise.

  • How can I prevent my art prints from going wavy once framed?

Dry mounting is an option to prevent prints from buckling once they are framed but this option is irreversible. Once a print has been dry mounted we cannot undo the process.

Another preventative measure is awareness of the temperature and humidity fluctuations in the space where you wish to store and hang your artworks. If you have an exhibition space booked and are unsure about how the space is heated (older building in particular!) ask the host about their temperature control facilities.

  • What is dry mounting?

Dry mounting is a process in which a print is bonded to a mount using archival adhesive. Be aware that this is an irreversible process and artwork cannot be removed from mount board once is has been stuck down.

  • What is the difference between standard glass and UV protective glass?

The key is in the name, UV Protective glass is exactly that! It protects your artworks from harmful UV rays which come as a result of direct sunlight and can cause fading to occur. It is also anti-reflective too so it enables you to see the artworks more clearly without a reflection getting in the way. Standard glass does not have these magical powers unfortunately but it is definitely more cost effective.
